Email Set-up For Opera 6

SETTING UP AN ACCOUNT

From the Email menu, choose New accounts..This will open the Email account properties box, where you will want to enter the following:

Account Tab

Account name: Your Account Name
Full name: Your Name
Email address: Your Email Address
Organization: (Optional)
Reply-To: (Optional)

Click on the Servers Tab..

Incoming

Server: Enter your domain with mail at beginning eg. mail.mydomain.com
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Username: Enter your e-mail username
Password: Enter your e-mail password

Outgoing

Server: Enter your domain eg. mydomain.com
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25

CONFIGURING YOUR ACCOUNT

Server Authentication

Opera 6 does not support Server Authentication, which you'll need to send email through our servers. However, the following work-around is posted on their site and copied here) under their Knowledge Base. Check the following options under the Outgoing Tab:

Queuing

Queue e-mail (do not send immediately)
Send queued e-mail after checking e-mail

Congratulations, you've now setup Opera 6 to use your email account.
